The following is some information about NPI.
National Progressive Institute (NPI)
The National Progressive Institute (NPI) is an advisory arm of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) that focuses on policy matters and engages the Bahamian civil society and community stakeholders about their issues and concerns, organizes “round table” discussions throughout the year, is designed to engage the wider Bahamian community and brings young progressive Bahamians together in settings where they can speak to their future vision of The Bahamas.
The NPI is open to anyone who wishes to affiliate with the Progressive Liberal Party and reflects the broad diversity of our nation and of the PLP and consists of students, young workers, young professionals and young families. All of the members have the best interest of their community at heart and work hard to affect the democratic process.
Joining the NPI will present you with a unique opportunity to participate in the legislative and campaign process. The NPI serves as a valuable resource tool for our members by offering:
Developing Future Leaders
Additional NPI Objectives include:
Establishing political discussion forums
Setting up political and professional networks
Fostering the development of future Bahamian leaders
The National Progressive Institute intends to create a framework for a proactive social agenda and to develop policies and programs that are geared towards the elimination of poverty, social dislocation, marginalization and deviant behavior among the youth and other citizens.
