The National Executive Board of the Progressive Young Liberals presents a Certificate of Appreciation to House Mother Ms. Colebrook and her amazing staff. On Saturday, July 14th, 2012, The National Progressive Young Liberals Executive Board held its first Social Outreach Event at The Bilney Lane Children’s Home. It was an awesome day filled with fun activities for the children there. The team read books, played musical instruments, board and educational games, and got to know the staff and kids while getting some laughs in.
PYL warmed their hearts and filled their tummies with delicious eats and topped it off with cupcakes and ice cream. At the end of the fulfilling day, the executive board members presented the administrators with a Certificate of Appreciation to thank them for allowing PYL the opportunity to fellowship and interact with the wonderful kids there.
This event was a reminder that we must always be thankful for what we have and must always give back to others less fortunate than ourselves. As Bilney Lane houses children with various disabilities the executive board observed seven children with an undeniable will to overcome all obstacles. This service event was the first of many service initiatives to come.
