Women’s Branch Congratulates Curry

Press Statement
22nd October, 2012
New Providence Women’s Branch
Progressive Liberal Party

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The New Providence Women’s Branch of the Progressive Liberal Party extends congratulations to Mr. Renardo Curry, the Member of Parliament Elect for the North Abaco constituency. The Officers and Executive Members of the Branch are confident that by God’s grace, Mr. Curry will provide stellar representation on behalf of the people of North Abaco in the halls of Parliament.

The results of the October 15th, 2012 North Abaco bye-election showed an overwhelming victory by a margin of more than 850 votes over the incumbent Free National Movement Party. This outcome reflects the collective voice of the majority of North Abaconians that North Abaco is indeed ready for a “New Day”.

This historical and landmark victory provides further evidence that the Bahamian electorate is satisfied with the performance of the Progressive Liberal Party government since the May 2012 general elections and the direction that the Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie and his team is headed in toward restoring the socio-economic position of our beloved Bahamaland to better days.

The New Providence Women’s Branch salutes the courage and determination of the great people of North Abaco that have given Mr. Renardo Curry and the Progressive Liberal Party the opportunity to provide them with a new generation of leadership after some two and a half decades of separation. We look forward to forming a fruitful and productive alliance with Mr. Curry and the women of North Abaco to improve the livelihood of all North Abaconians and ultimately all Bahamians.

The Women’s Branch would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the people of North Abaco for their hospitality and warm reception during our time spent on the ground in Treasure Cay and travels throughout the various settlements of North Abaco. We look forward to the new progressive era for North Abaco that will be officially ushered in with the swearing in of Mr. Curry on Wednesday, the 24th October, 2012. May God continue to bless the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
