About Me: Kenred Michael Ansara Dorsett was born in Nassau, The Bahamas, February 16, 1971. He is the only son of Nathaniel Kenred Dorsett of New Bight Cat Island and Fort Fincastle, Nassau, The Bahamas and Joyce Viola Adderley of Burnt Ground, Long Island and St. James Road, Nassau,The Bahamas. He is married to Tami, and is the proud father of four children.
Political Highlights: During the Christie administration Mr. Dorsett served on the board of the Education Loan Authority and as Deputy Chairman of the Clifton Heritage Authority. He also served as Chairman of the Housing Commission. As a vice chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party, Mr. Dorsett chaired the party’s digital campaign which led to the creation of the party’s website, myplp.com. A champion of education, Dorsett was responsible, through his law practice, for a number of free legal clinics being held throughout the country. He is committed to the establishment of a community centre within the Southern Shores constituency that will be the hub for a business advisory and promotion service program as well as a youth development and job training programme. He has also committed himself to establishing an Urban Renewal programme in Southern Shores.
Education: He received his early education at St. John’s College Primary and Secondary, completing his tertiary education at Keele University, Staffordshire, England in 1994; BPP Law School, London England. He has also obtained Professional Certificates of Calls to both the English and Bahamas Bars
Civics/Social: Mr. Dorsett worships at Bahamas Harvest Church where he is an active member of the church’s Men of Virtue group.
Professional/Career: Mr. Dorsett is currently the managing partner at Chancellors Chambers in Nassau. He has worked at Graham, Thompson & Company, NSB Education Group & K.M.A.D. & Associates, Lennox Patton and Halsbury Chambers. He is a member of the board of Consolidated Water (Bahamas) Ltd and serves on the Membership Committee for Meritas Law Firms Worldwide.
